Gold Star Parent’s Retreat

Gold Star Parent’s Retreat was created in 2016 by Terry and Elisabeth Burgess after their son, U.S. Army SSG Bryan A. Burgess was killed in action in Afghanistan. Their mission is to provide a place where parents of fallen service members can meet and connect in a relaxing, informal setting. They welcome parents of any fallen hero regardless of branch of service or cause of death. All amenities are provided by Gold Star Parent’s Retreat.

Gold Star Parent’s Retreat is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 organization. Your donation provides the necessary funds which make these annual Retreats possible. Thank you!

This website When Our Blue Star Turned Gold tells SSG Bryan Burgess’ story and to honor his sacrifice while helping other Gold Star families navigate their own journeys and inspire them to tell their stories so others will understand and appreciate the true cost of freedom.
