We are the Gold Star family of SSG. Bryan A Burgess. We live each day in the hope of honoring our son in such a way that he would be as proud of us as we are of him. Our path has led us to the mission of helping other Gold Star families learn about the resources available to share their stories and honor their own fallen heroes.
Terry Burgess is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Tarleton State University. He and his wife, Elisabeth, moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1999. They both have worked in the financial and banking industry as business analysts.
Terry is the former president of the Chasing Gold Toastmasters Club, an ordained minister, an author of five fiction novels, and the current Vice President of Gold Star Family Relations for The Apache Warrior Foundation. Elisabeth is the current Treasurer of The Apache Warrior Foundation.
Terry and Beth created their own registered 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, Gold Star Parents Retreat, which provides a cost-free weekend retreat to any Gold Star parent.

Going thru the TSA x-ray screening at DFW for a flight to South Dakota got my suitcase pulled over for inspection. We had packed the usual; clothes, hairdryer, toiletries, razors, power supplies, battery packs and charging cords, so I really wasn’t that surprised…until the TSA agent pulled out the six books I had packed.
After a recent trip to New York City, Beth and I were both hit with a sinus infection that at times knocked us to our knees. We received lots of support and love from our friends and family, but the mucus didn’t care about the support. How can one small part make your entire body miserable and sore?
